Farm

In parallel to our activity of prunes drying, the company ensures a mission of counselling, support and assistance for farmers who cultivate prunes.

Many visits are scheduled on a yearly basis for the prospection of Orchards, the goal is then to ensure good technical pursuit of prunes (irrigation, fertilization, disease treatment, etc...) and farming counselling.

MABIOCO is convinced that the quality of fields and the quality of work by cultivators are the basics to attain a fruit of a good quality and a good calibre.

In autumn, the Stanley prune tree loses its leaves and when the sap is sufficiently down, the tree trimming could be started.

It is pursued all along winter, and consists of:

• Formation trimming for younger trees.
• Fructification trimming for older trees.

In Spring time, the firs appear and the fields are all in white.

This is a crucial period when a morning freezing could destroy the entire crop.

Up to summer, the orchard is maintained: grass cut, tree treatment, watering and irrigation....

Around August 15, the harvest begins with picking.
